FUME HOOD TESTING

SSS Ltd. offers chemical fume hood testing in accordance with ASHRAE-110. Primary tests include inflow velocity profiling and airflow smoke testing. These tests provide a qualitative analysis of air capture at the face of the unit, thus demonstrating the unit's exposure prevention effectiveness and ensuring operator.  Under Section 30.9 of the BC Reg. 319/2007, face velocities over the operational face opening and the ability of the fume hood to maintain an inward flow of air across the operational face opening, as well as contain contaminants, must be tested (a) after the hood is installed and before it is first used, (b) at least once in each 12 month period after installation and (c) after any repairs or maintenance that could affect the air flow.
