HAZARDOUS MATERIALS MANAGEMENT
A Comprehensive Approach
Demolition and renovation work involve the taking apart and destruction, in whole or in part, of buildings, structures, equipment, and machinery. These processes have the potential to create harmful exposures to hazardous materials. The Occupational Health and Safety Regulation, Section 20.112 names several types of hazardous materials which must be identified and either safely contained or safely removed prior to demolition or during renovation work. They must be identified and reported by a “Qualified Person.”
